There are all sorts of ways to manifest an eMinistry. It can be a social media presence, an online Bible study, or even a web based radio show. Our Center Director had the privilege to speak with Rev. Dr. Alethea Smith-Withers, host of Rev UP with Rev. Alethea recently, on topics ranging from eMinistry to creative ways that you can make a positive ripple by getting involved. It was the perfect venue for such a discussion. But this radio show goes well beyond the “how to” of eMinistry. She has tackled everything from faith to fellowship, education to economics, and pop culture to politics. Catch this “keeping it real” program live on Tuesdays at 7 PM EST and 4pm PST. You’ll find counseling insights about individual emotional healing, relationships, and parenting in a safe environment in the spirit of nonharming, as she seeks to minister to all who tune in, through all phases of life’s experience, speaking life and love, even up to the Higher Life of the Spirit.
About Rev. Alethea
Rev. Alethea is the Founder and Pastor of the The Pavilion of God Baptist Church in Washington, DC., as well as a Pastoral Counselor and Life Coach. She is the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice (RCRC), the national community of religious and spiritual people, denominations, and organizations from all faith traditions dedicated to achieving reproductive justice. She has transformed her test into a testimony as a woman of God and a breast cancer “overcomer,” creating the faith-based ministry, STAND (Share experiences, Teach prevention, Affirm survival, Note statics, Discover resources), to faithfully stand against the disproportionate impact of breast cancer within the African American community. From coast to coast, she has provided leadership training for both ministers and lay leaders and is a professional facilitator and a frequent guest preacher. A wonderful woman, wife, mother, and grandmother. It was a joy and a blessing to spend time together on her show.
