Lord’s Prayer in Libindja

The following Lord’s Prayer edition is in Libindja, a language on the continent of Africa spoken by perhaps up to 25,000 people.

The language is primarily spoken within the DRC in the Equateur province (such as north Bomongo territory, Boniange and Monia villages on Mwanda and Ngiri rivers) as well as on islands such as Bomongo and in the Sud-Ubangi province – Kungu territory.

The translator is Michel Ebuma, pictured below.

English and Libindja Dictionary Help

Michel Ebuma has provided the following help with the words of the English prayer, that can be useful in understanding the prayer as it is spoken, above. …just don’t say it this way – take it as a reference, and as such it’s not meant to be grammatically correct! See the interlinear translation, below this section, for a translation back from Libindja.
