Our Spring WebGem features Rev. Andrea Davidson, as she invites us to enter into a process of co-creating with God, dreaming of a better tomorrow. Because God’s vision is greater than our own, we each may be called to an area – an aspect – of God’s greater vision.
She makes a great point: God will set our hearts on fire for different areas – it might be peace, education, justice – everyone’s visions, taken together, will move us towards the greater vision that God is seeking to build. So, we’re called to continue to build those dreams for a world that is more just… for a world that is not yet, but that is on its way there. Even if we don’t see it in our own lifetime, it doesn’t mean that we don’t continue to work towards seeing it accomplished.
Rev. Davidson invites us to dream a different kind of world – that new heaven and new earth, building a new community such that justice runs down that water and righteous is an ever flowing stream. She contrasts this dream with Joseph’s dream. It’s a dream of equity, when “all God’s children” will have a robe, beyond the fear of what is, to imagining possibilities that God might co-create with us.
Grateful thanks to Rev. Davidson for allowing us to share this sermon excerpt with you. We hope it will bring a fresh perspective that might help orient you, bless you, and bring you joy. May you grow feel something of the fullness of the presence of God. Right now, and throughout the seasons of the year.
Blessings and Happy Spring!
