Here’s our tasty recipe for the traditional honey cake of Rosh Hashanah, the birthday of the universe, the head of the Jewish year.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Gather and mix dry ingredients:
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- spices: 1/4 tsp cinnamon; 1/4 tsp nutmeg; 1/4 tsp ginger
Gather and mix wet ingredients:
- 3 eggs
- 2 cups honey
- juice of one lemon
- 1/2 cups butter
- 3/4 cup milk
- Mix all ingredients together. Pour into pan.
- Bake for 45 minutes (or until a toothpick or knife inserted into the center comes out clean).
- Take out and cool. Enjoy.
