Climate Weirding /klī′mĭt wîrdĭng/ – Noun: The increase in unpredictability and extreme nature of weather events that arise as a result of climate change.
In finance, such extremes and volatility are measured in terms of β (Beta), and increase investment risk. Although unfamiliar to many, the term "climate weirding" has been around for over 15 years, having appeared in a New York Times article in 2007. The growing unpredictability and force of weather events harms the global economy in a variety of ways, including lowering crop yields, flood damage to critical infrastructure.
